WHO IS GAP?
We are a group of Pocatello-area creators, builders, community advocates, healers, businesspeople, mothers, fathers and educators who are seeking to inspire our community of all ages to engage in building a foundation of opportunities to enrich all lives. We are dedicated to utilizing this platform to educate, inspire, and lead by positive example, all within a fun and safe environment. Recognizing the need for more art activities and community-building opportunities in our area, we strive to create a space that fosters healing, unity, and meaningful connections for everyone.
WHAT IS GAP?
GAP is a vibrant and supportive community where artists and makers can thrive by connecting creatives of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures. A place where skills of these can be taught to all. This is a space that is for not only for our community to learn and grow, but to gather and connect with positive experiences that help us all to thrive in life. We seek to remove the barriers of old and encourage collaboration, imagination, education, skill building, community outreach, and confidence. We are a 501(c)3.
HOW DO WE IMPACT POCATELLO?
We host regular art workshops that welcome all members of our community, providing not only creative opportunities but also a space for gatherings such as meetings, celebrations, or simply a haven for creators. Our aim is to strengthen Historic Downtown Pocatello by enhancing its community events with engaging art demonstrations that inspire participants.
At these events, we offer hands-on projects that participants can take home or contribute to collective creations displayed in our maker’s space—showcasing what our community can achieve together. Beyond our space, we bring these enriching experiences to various community events, including the Portneuf Valley Environmental Fair, the Portneuf Valley Farmer’s Market, The Crafter’s Market at Station Square, Shady Grove Music Camp, and The Lincoln Center.
We are proud to collaborate with organizations like Bicycles for Recovery, The Human Rights Collective amd Pocatello/Chubbuck Blessings Pantry. Additionally, we support the Pocatello Arts Council by spotlighting an artist of the month for 1st Friday Art Walks, celebrating the talents of local handcrafters and artists.

Why ARE WE IMPORTANT:
Our community thrives when adults are given the opportunity to contribute meaningfully, lead by example, and share invaluable skills with others. We aim to create spaces that foster these connections—places where individuals can experience inspiration that fuels their passions and ignites their ambitions. Through these positive experiences, we empower community members to envision a brighter future and recognize the profound strength of collective support.
A community that works together to uplift and inspire one another is a strong, resilient, and healthy one. By building each other up, we pave the way for shared growth and a more connected, empowered society.
