Position Overview
Program Assistant – Art Education Nonprofit. We’re seeking enthusiastic and reliable part-time Program Assistants to support our mission of providing free art classes to the community. This is an excellent opportunity for high school seniors or college students who are passionate about the arts, education, and making a positive impact in their community.

Compensation: $12/hour
Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours (10โ€“20 hours per week)
Location: GAP Makerspace. 426 W. Lewis Shop #2, At Lookout Point, Pocatello.

Glen Allen Project is a nonprofit dedicated to making art education accessible to everyone. We offer free art classes to students of all ages and backgrounds, fostering creativity, self-expression, and community connection through the visual arts. See glenallenarts.org

Responsibilities

  • Assist instructors during art classes by preparing materials, setting up workstations, and helping students with projects
  • Welcome participants and create a friendly, inclusive environment
  • Organize and maintain art supplies and classroom spaces
  • Help with class registration and attendance tracking
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and communications
  • Assist with special events, exhibitions, and community outreach activities
  • Clean and organize workspace after classes
  • Other duties as assigned to support program operations

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in art, education, and community service
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations, including children and adults
  • Patient and encouraging attitude when working with students
  • Basic computer skills (email, Google Suite/Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 lbs
  • Previous experience with art or working with children is a plus, but not required
